This check-in records the project after the main translation phase. The original contribution requirement is no longer the largest risk: I completed 150 Astra suggestions for Spanish (Costa Rica), audited the complete set, and opened the community review step. The remaining work is mainly documentation, feedback, and the live community activities required by the course.

What went well

Using measurable checkpoints made the work easier to verify. I recorded the initial and final project counts, kept a personal-filter screenshot, and retained the final exported PO file. The audit also caught issues that would have been easy to miss when reviewing one entry at a time, especially inconsistent formality and capitalization.

Challenges and adjustments

The most significant challenge was deciding when a source was safe to translate. Some strings lacked enough context or were primarily technical. I adjusted by prioritizing clear user-facing entries and skipping anything uncertain. I also expanded the target beyond the 100-string minimum to 150, creating a buffer without sacrificing the quality review.

Remaining items

Editorial approval is still pending, and I must respond honestly to any feedback. The course also requires documented participation in a WordPress team meeting, the event/presentation activity specified by the university guide, mentor follow-up, and final reporting. I have not claimed those activities as completed before they occur.

Next step

I will keep the project page current, add evidence for community participation, and complete the course forms only when every required field is supported by a real link or artifact. This protects both the credibility of the contribution and the quality of the final submission.
